Tourist boatman discovers human skeleton wrapped in plastic on beach

DUNGUN: A human skeleton wrapped in plastic was discovered at Pasir Tenggara beach in Pulau Tenggol here today.

The grisly discovery was made by tourist boatman Rosamnuar Ali, 37, who was transporting three divers to the island’s beach for a short rest at 9am.

District police chief superintendent Ahmad Zailani Yaacub said Rosamnuar detected a foul smell on the beach and proceeded to inspect a nearby fish container to find the source.

Rosamnuar peered inside the container and was shocked to discover the human skeleton wrapped in plastic.

He immediately contacted the Dungun police station.

"A team of policemen was rushed to the scene and brought the skeleton to the Terengganu mainland at 3pm," he added.

The skeleton was then sent to the Dungun Hospital for further inspection.

Zailani said that while an investigation is ongoing, the police urge anyone in the area with a missing loved one to urgently call the nearest police station.
