Bruneian killed, two injured as car ploughs into pickup truck in Limbang

LIMBANG: A man from Brunei was killed while two others were critically injured when the car they were in collided with a four-wheel drive vehicle at KM12 of Jalan Mendamit Limbang last night.

The victim, identified Muhammad Jalaluddin Abdullah, died at the scene from severe head and bodily injuries in the 7pm accident.

Jalaluddin and two others, also from Brunei, were heading to town from Tedungan.

It was believed that the road was slippery due to heavy rain when the accident occurred.

The victim, who was behind the wheel, lost control of his car before it skidded into the opposite lane and collided with a Toyota Hilux.

State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department deputy chief Deputy Superintendent Alexson Naga Chabu said all victims were rushed to the Limbang Hospital.

The passengers inside the ill-fated car have been identified as Siti Nuraisyah and Zulhairi Saying.

"All four people inside the Toyota Hilux, aged between 22 and 62, escaped the mishap unharmed," he said.
