BANDAR SERI JEMPOL: A 33 year-old man believed to be a drug addict was arrested yesterday after violently assaulting his 32 year-old sister and causing a major commotion.
In the 9.15pm incident, the suspect had also threatened to kill the victim and their 50 year-old mother.
“The suspect had strangled his sister, and hit her on the head and hands, causing injuries,” said Jempol district police chief Superintendent Noorzainy Mohd Noor.
The altercation occurred after the suspect’s sister refused his request to fetch his son and bring him to his location at a shop.
“The suspect, who lives at his mother’s house with his wife and children, was arrested at 1.30pm yesterday,” said Noorzainy.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal code for rioting.
