Express bus overturns along Plus highway, one injured

SEREMBAN: One person was injured when an express bus skidded and overturned at Km244 of the North-South Highway (PLUS) here early this morning.

A total of 29 passengers were on the bus, which was travelling from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur.

Rembau Fire and Rescue Department chief officer Dzor Yusoff said the department received an emergency call at 5.05am.

“One person was injured, but the remaining 28 passengers, aged between 30 and 50, were unharmed.

"Eleven firemen were dispatched to the location. We also received help from the Senawang Fire and Rescue Department in the rescue operation," he said.

Dzor added that some of the bus passengers managed to get out on their own, while others had to be assisted by firemen.

He said it is believed the bus had lost control before it skidded to the side of the road.
