Water supply trickling back to areas affected by Sg Semenyih plant shutdown

KUALA LUMPUR: Water supply to areas affected by the Sg Semenyih Water Treatment Plant shutdown is being restored in stages.

As of this morning, Petaling has seen a 63 per cent restoration of its water supply, while Hulu Langat has achieved 72 per cent, Kuala Langat 92 per cent and Sepang 97 per cent.

These areas have experienced water supply disruption since Sept 22 due to raw pollution at the treatment plant.

In a statement today, Head of Corporate Communications for Air Selangor Group, Amin Lin, said restoration of water supply to affected areas is being expedited.

"Full restoration is expected by 1am on Wednesday Sept 28," he said.

Consumers can get the latest on their water supply status via the 'MySyabas' smart phone application and at www.syabas.com.my.
