Water supply disruption still persist in Hulu Langat, Petaling

KUALA LUMPUR: Several areas in Hulu Langat and Petaling are still experiencing water supply disruption following the closure of the Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant due to water odour pollution since Sept 24.

Head of Kumpulan Air Selangor Corporate Communication Division Amin Lin Abdullah said in a statement today that the burst pipe case caused by the work of a third party in Sungai Jelok, had made it more difficult for the restoration of the water supply to several areas in Hulu Langat.

“Repair works are underway to allow the water supply to the affected areas to be restored as soon as possible.

“The delivery of water through the help of tanker lorries will continue until full recovery of water supply in the affected areas,” he said.

Areas experiencing water supply disruption in the Petaling district are Bukit Serdang 3,4,5,6,7 and 8, Jalan Pekan Seri Kembangan, Apartment Megaria, Taman Serdang Utama, Puchong Hartamas and Bandar Puteri Puchong.

In Hulu Langat, the affected areas are Bandar Sunway Semenyih, Bandar Tasik Kesuma, Bandar Teknologi Kajang, Kajang Utama, Semenyih Immigration Detention Centre, Taman Bangi Jaya, Taman Bukit Semenyih, Taman Desa Kenanga, Taman Bukit Kajang Baru, Taman Desa Mewah, Taman Desa Mutiara and Taman Dusun Gaya.
