Death threat 'an act of terrorism', says Ambiga

SHAH ALAM: Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan has described the death threat she received as "an act of terrorism".

"It is appalling. They have really crossed the line. This is an act of terrorism and I would really like to see what the police are going to do about it.

"This is a clear cut case of threats and it is something that requires immediate action," the former Bar Council president said when met at the Selangor state secretariat building today.

Ambiga said she and Bersih 2.0 chairman Maria Chin Abdullah, who also received the death threat, will be lodging a police report on the matter at the Petaling Jaya police headquarters today.

Maria had reportedly confirmed that she received the death threat in the form of an image from an anonymous person purportedly due to the upcoming Bersih 5 rally on Nov 19.

The image depicted a man in black attire pointing a dagger to Ambiga and Maria's pictures which had yellow Bersih 5 T-shirts superimposed on it.
