JOHOR BARU: A man was killed when his multi-purpose vehicle caught fire on the Senai-Desaru Expressway early this morning.
His charred remains were recovered by the Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue Department which had responded to an emergency call about a vehicle on fire near the Cahaya Baru toll plaza at 5am.
A fire engine with five personnel, led by Mohd Rafi Mohd Nor, arrived on the scene 25 minutes later to find a Toyota Vellfire ablaze. The body was found trapped on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
The fire was put out about an hour later.
Authorities have yet to identify the body.
