Rembau traffic accident kills woman, injures three others, including baby

REMBAU: A woman was killed when her car collided with a four wheel drive vehicle at Jalan Seremban-Rembau near the Road Transport Department (RTD), Jalan Pedas here this morning.

In the 7.30am incident, the Perodua Axia driven by Faramazila Kamaruzaman, 24, collided with the four wheel drive vehicle driven by Tan Hock Soon, 40, whose passengers were his wife and 9 month-old son.

Rembau Fire and Rescue Department chief Mohd Fuad Majid said the department received a call over the accident at 7.48am and a fire engine with eight officers and personnel were immediately despatched.

"Firemen took five minutes to extricate Faramazila, who was trapped in her seat – but she was pronounced dead at the scene," he told the New Straits Times here today.

Mohd Fuad said Hock Soon, his wife and son sustained light injuries and were treated by paramedics.

He said the victim's remains were taken to Tampin hospital for an autopsy, and that the case was handed over to the police.
