M'sia to send humanitarian aid to Rohingya in Myanmar

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will be sending humanitarian aid to the Rohingya community sheltering in camps in Myanmar before the end of the year.

Putera 1Malaysia Club Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Rahim said donations have been pledged by Utusan Malaysia, Tabung Haji and Media Prima as part of the initiative.

"I hope Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak would urge the Bangladeshi government to open the borders of Chittagong to allow for aid to be sent to Myanmar," he said.

In a speech to the crowd gathered at the Rohingya solidarity rally at Titiwangsa Stadium this morning, Abdul Azeez shared his experience and tribulations in trying to help the Rohingya community in Myanmar.
