Almost 450 areas in KL, PJ, Hulu Langat to face water disruptions

SHAH ALAM: Close to 450 areas in the Hulu Langat (371), Kuala Lumpur (70) and Petaling (7) districts will continue to face water disruptions although the upgrading works at the Sungai Langat water treatment plant has been completed and resumed operations yesterday.

Water supply to service reservoirs is being restored in stages and the disruption taking place every two days, according to its zones, is expected to end on Dec 13, said Air Selangor Group corporate communicate head Amin Lin Abdullah.

The list of affected areas and the start and stop of water supply schedule can be viewed at Syabas' website.

Amin said water supply to 409 areas under Zone 1, which was restored in stages from 4pm yesterday, was stopped from 9am today.

"Water supply will resume two days later starting from 4pm. As for Zone 2 (39 areas), water supply will resume in stages from 4pm today and will be stopped two days later from 9am. It will be channeled again two days later starting from 4pm," he said today.

Amin added that relief water supply will be sent by water tankers to areas that experience water interruption in the designated zones, especially premises located on higher ground and at the end of the distribution systems.
