PETRONAS Dagangan Bhd recently announced that Dynamic Diesel Euro 5 will be available at 50 of their stations nationwide by the end of December.
The announcement was made during the recent Petronas Dynamic Xperience drive from KL to JB, which saw dozens of participants sampling the new diesel for themselves. They included members from a number of local car clubs.
Dynamic Diesel Euro 5 is a cleaner diesel product from Petronas. It has an extremely low sulphur content, at only 10ppm.
The high-performance fuel allows diesel drivers to gain maximum performance from their engines with greater fuel economy and engine protection.
Petronas fuel engineer Mohamad Hafiz Abd Aziz was on hand to brief participants and media personnel on the merits of using the new fuel.
The improved chemistries in Dynamic Diesel Euro 5 works best in vehicles with Euro 5-compliant diesel engines by eliminating sulphur build-up, which may cause damage over the long term.
Modern injectors on diesel engines have very small holes that can be easily affected by injector coking. Build-ups in the injectors result in power loss, higher fuel consumption and increased pollution.
The new fuel helps the engine and emission control system perform optimally, while the environment also benefits because the amount of harmful pollutants released is minimised.
Petronas says Dynamic Diesel Euro 5 will improve engine performance from the very first fill.
It is possible to mix it with other grades of diesel, such as the Euro 2M-specification Petronas Dynamic Diesel.
However, by consistently using the new fuel, better performance can be gained, even if you are using an older diesel vehicle.
In keeping with the government’s gazetted implementation date, all Petronas stations will have the Euro 5 diesel available by 2020.
