Two-riffic!: LG introduces its latest ultra-slim OLED TV and super energy-efficient refrigerator

Can a big screen TV be as slim as a smartphone? LG has just proven that it can with its new 4.6mm thin LG OLED B6 TV.

The LG OLED B6’s 55-inch screen brings an unrivalled cinematic experience, with greater brightness, contrast, and colour display.

It supports both Dolby Vision and HDR 10 (as approved by the industry), demonstrating its capability of supporting multi-content format and making it a “future proof” TV.

LG Electronics (LG) Malaysia's managing director David Oh said the trend with TVs today is to move towards larger and thinner screens.

"For every family, the living room is the main area where they spend quality time together. LG’s OLED technology pushes the limitations to demonstrate HDR content to its fullest potential, providing customers with an exceptional viewing experience," he added.

The organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology also comes with self-lighting pixels on the back panel of the display screen. As with bioluminescent organisms, these lights flicker on and off, generating perfect, lively colours.

The LG OLED B6 is available for RM12,999, but is currently offered at the promotional price of M9,999.

Besides the OLED B6, LG also introduced its new 600L Mega Capacity Side-by-Side Refrigerator with a super-energy efficient compressor.

Using the LG Inverter Linear Compressor technology, the new refrigerator can reduce mechanical actions that results in quieter all-round performance with less friction.

Oh said refrigerators with this technology are proven to be approximately 32 per cent more energy efficient and 25 per cent quieter compared to conventional compressors.

"This contributes significantly to lower electricity use," he added.

He said one of its highlights is the Door-in-Door feature, which is an additional energy-saving function that allows consumers quick access to their favourite snacks and beverages, while saving up to 41 per cent of cold air (which is usually lost when opening a main refrigerator door).

"Consumers can now have a more organised refrigerator with a maximum energy-saving ability," said Oh.

The 600L Mega Capacity Side-by-Side refrigerator is available for RM6,999.
