Duo snatch phone from student, nabbed by passers-by after crashing getaway car

BESUT: Two men, including a 16-year-old boy, were arrested for snatching a mobile phone from a 21-year-old student near Kampung Padang Luas near here on Sunday.

District police chief Superintendent Mohd Zamri Mohd Rowi said in the 6pm incident, the suspects met up with victim, from Bandar Permaisuri, Setiu, by the roadside on the pretext of buying the phone from him.

However, when the teenager showed his phone to the suspect, the suspect ran off with it into a white Perodua Axia driven by his 23-year-old accomplice.
