Police after employer, Indonesian maid found unconscious in a drain in Mutiara Damansara

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are looking for the employer of a 19-year-old Indonesian maid to assist with investigation into the abuse of the maid.

The teenager was found lying unconscious in a drain in PJU 3/10 in Mutiara Damansara today.

Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din said a security guard in the residential area spotted the girl in the drain and notified a resident at about 12.10pm.

The resident immediately brought the girl to the nearest clinic for treatment and took her to the Mutiara Damansara police station to lodge report.

As she was severely injured, the maid was then sent to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for further treatment.

“Our initial investigation revealed that the girl is working in one of the houses in the residential area. Efforts to track down the employer and her place of employment are being conducted.

“Based on her injuries, we believe that she was abused,” said Zani in a statement.

The case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
