PORT KLANG: Five people were injured when a firework show went awry at the New Year celebration at the Pandamaran Complex here.
The incident happened just after midnight, with initial reports suggesting that victims sustained burns on the lower parts of the body.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohd Sani Harul said they received reports on the incident from a team of seven firemen from the Port Klang station, who were put on standby for the celebration there.
It is learnt that the victims were attended to by a team of paramedics.
However, details on their identities and the severity of their injuries are still unavailable.
