Engaged couple killed in crash at Pagoh toll plaza

JOHOR BAHRU: A man and a woman, who were believed to be engaged, died when the Perodua Viva they were travelling in collided with a four-wheel drive vehicle at the Pagoh toll plaza junction at noon yesterday.

Muar police chief ACP Azman Ayob said the 35 year-old man and 24-year-old woman died at the scene from severe head and body injuries.

"Initial investigations revealed that the accident occurred when the Perodua Viva, driven by the male victim, was turning from Pagoh toll towards Muar when it collided with the four-wheel drive vehicle," he said.

Azman said the remains of both victims were sent to the Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital for a post-mortem.

The driver of the four-wheel drive vehicle was treated at the Pagoh Health Clinic. -- Bernama
