KUALA LUMPUR: A pile of junk, including some computer parts were found in front of the North Korean embassy this morning.
A bouquet of sunflower, left behind by the Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM) when they gathered outside the North Korean embassy on Friday, as they called for peace and diplomatic cooperation between Malaysia and North Korea, was also found lumped together with the discarded items.
It is believed that the items have been disposed by the embassy's staff between yesterday evening and early this morning, when none of the reporters were waiting outside the embassy.
The atmosphere at the North Korean embassy however remained quiet with four vehicles seen parked inside the premises today.
Meanwhile, members of the press, consisting both local and foreign agencies including from the South Korea and Japan, continued to camp outside the embassy from as early as 9am.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, on Friday, had confirmed that a man who was killed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) on February 13 as Kim Jong-nam, the estranged half brother of the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Khalid also stated that the police may handover Jong-nam's body to the Health Ministry for the next course of action as none of the next-of-kin has come forward so far to claim his body.
Malaysia, on March 4, has declared North Korea's ambassador, Kang Chol, persona non grata for being critical of the former's handling of the case, and ordered the diplomat to leave the country within the next 48 hours.
Following the announcement, North Korea, on Tuesday, had decided to temporarily ban Malaysians from leaving the country.
Malaysia has follow suit by announcing that all North Koreans in the country would not be allowed to leave, within a few hours of the announcement made by Pyongyang.
