'J Revolusi' nets RM4.3m in 10 days

ACTION flick J Revolusi’s box office collections continue to soar, recording RM4.3 million after 10 days in cinemas.

In a statement from co-producer Grand Brilliance yesterday, more than 300,000 people have viewed the movie.

J Revolusi director Zulkarnain Azhar said moviegoers were impressed with Zul Ariffin, who is marking his first major action hero role.

He plays Jay, a member of Unit Tindakan Khas, the special operations force of the Royal Malaysian Police.

Many have likened him to the late Tan Sri Jins Shamsuddin’s iconic secret agent Jefri Zain since there is an uncanny resemblance between them.

“The main cast comprising Zul Ariffin, Farid Kamil, Izara Aishah and Azad Jazmin have been on road shows in Penang, Johor Baru and Singapore, and fans have been very excited about the movie.

“They have performed brilliantly, even Izara and Azad who have held their own as Jay ’s best friends in the Special Action Unit,” he said, adding that the road show would be in Kuala Lumpur next weekend.

Zulkarnain and his team also earned kudos from moviegoers for portraying the country’s last surviving dredge in Tanjung Tualang, Perak, in an introductory scene of the movie.

“We used the dredge for an important scene to introduce fans to Jay’s leadership qualities.”

J Revolusi is co-produced by Grand Brilliance and Infinitus Productions. It opened in more than 120 cinemas on March 2.

A special contest with attractive prizes also awaits fans at www.jrevolusi.my. The contest ends Thursday.
