Two killed after car slams into telephone pole in Sri Aman

SRI AMAN: Two people were killed and three others injured when a car they were travelling in slammed into a telephone pole at KM31, Jalan Sri Aman-Serian, near Lachau.

The victims were identified as Sultan Untang, 43, from Betong and Romualdo Alim, 18, from Sri Aman.

In the 7.15am incident, the driver of the Perodua Axia was believed to have lost control of the vehicle, causing it to skid and crashed straight into the telephone pole.

Sri Aman fire and rescue station spokesman said seven firefighters were rushed to the scene located about 25 kilometers away after receiving a distress call.

Investigations into the cause of the accident is still underway.
