Sabah's wildlife rescue rangers shot at fame via Scubazoo weekly webisodes [VIDEO]

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s Wildlife Rescue Unit (WRU) will have their 15 minutes of fame through an online series called ‘Borneo Wildlife Warriors’.

The weekly webisodes will follow the rescue unit’s journey into the jungles of Borneo as they fight to save animals in the wild. British wildlife photojournalist Aaron ‘Bertie’ Gekoski will tag along and join the team on their adventures to get a real feel of what it is like to be a ranger.

Scubazoo, Asia’s leading natural history production and photography company, in a media release said the episodes will be released on SZtv Facebook page and also via Scubazoo.tv.

This series will take viewers behind the scene and shows the audience what essentially take place during rescue operations.

“It’s basically a reality show on our wildlife rescuers and it also showcases the many wonderful characters within the WRU who are doing great deeds. It depicts the superhuman effort that our heroes employ to save the wildlife in Sabah,” said unit head Dr. Sen Nathan.

The series will highlight Borneo’s pygmy elephants, pangolins, sun bears and orangutans, as well as touch on the illegal pet trade.
