No M'sians reported affected in Stockholm attack: Foreign Ministry

PUTRAJAYA: So far, no Malaysians are reported to have been affected in the deadly truck attack in Stockholm, Sweden, yesterday afternoon.

In a statement released today, the Foreign Ministry said authorities in the Swedish capital have yet to announce the nationalities of victims involved in the incident.

"Thus far, no Malaysians have been reported to be involved in this incident," it added.

It was reported that a hijacked beer truck was deliberated rammed into an upscale department store in central Stockholm, killing at least four people and injuring 15 others.

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven called the crash a “terror attack”.

The Foreign Ministry conveyed its deepest sympathies and condolences to the victims of the incident, and their families.

The Malaysian Embassy in Stockholm has advised Malaysians in the city to avoid crowded areas, and to report their condition.
