Ipoh man charged with repeatedly raping 15-year-old stepdaughter

IPOH: A landscape worker was charged at the sessions court here today with raping his 15-year-old stepdaughter in Feb 2015 and in March this year.

The 37-year-old man is accused of committing the offences at a house in Halaman Meru Damai in Feb 2015, and at another house in Taman Bukit Meru, in March this year.

The offence falls under Section 376B (1) of the Penal Code, which provides for a maximum jail sentence of 30 years and whipping.

The man, however, pleaded “not guilty” to the charges.

Judge Norashima Khalid did not allow bail and fixed June 13 for mention.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Fauzi Md Yusof prosecuted, while the accused was represented by Chiang Mei Wan from the National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK).
