KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a 36-year old man in Petaling Jaya, Selangor today for allegedly raping and sodomising his 15-year old daughter.
Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din said the victim's mother lodged a report against her ex-husband at the Sungai Way police station yesterday.
The victim had revealed to her mother that she has been repeatedly raped and sodomised by her father.
She claimed to have been raped between 2015 and this year.
Mohd Zani said the couple had divorced in 2015. They have three children. The victim lived with the man while her siblings were staying with their mother.
Mohd Zani said the victim would occasionally visit her mother at her house in the district.
The man was arrested at his house last night.
He said the victim has been sent to the hospital for a check-up and treatment.
Police will apply for a remand order on the suspect tomorrow.
