LIMBANG: Police have arrested a 23-year-old man who is suspected of raping his underaged relative for almost a year.
The man was picked up at a house at Jalan Wong Tsap Ann here at 10.50pm yesterday.
District police chief Superintendent Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the victim, 15, had related the ordeal when she met her mother at a ferry terminal here on the same day of the arrest.
“The victim, who has been staying with her father since his divorce, could no longer contain her predicament when she met her mother.
“She told her mother that she had been raped for several times by his relative,” he said.
Shocked over her daughter’s revelation, the woman, in her 40s, lodged a police report against the relative.
