KUALA LUMPUR: The mother of a 12-year-old girl made a shocking discovery upon chancing on her daughter’s diary.
She had discovered that her child had been raped by her ex-boyfriend after reading her diary last Wednesday.
The 44-year-old woman had entered her youngest daughter’s room at about 1am and discovered the diary.
In her entries, the child had penned about her excruciating experience of being sexually abused by the 40-year-old man in April while the mother was on a working visit to China.
The mother then confronted her child, the younger of two siblings. The girl then revealed to her mother that she was raped by the man for four times between April and July this year at their house in Kajang Perdana.
The victim told the mother that the man had entered her room and raped her.
It is understood that when the mother was away, she left her children with her boyfriend of five years. They have been living under the same roof in the same period.
Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said the mother had lodged a report last Thursday.
“Police have arrested the man in Jalan Semenyih, Kajang on Monday.
“The man, who is a manager with a hydraulic company has been remanded for six days until Sunday,” he said.
Medical check-ups have also revealed there were old tear wounds on the victim’s genitals.
Dzaffir said investigations are still underway.
The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape which carries a maximum of 20 years’ imprisonment and caning if convicted.
The man is expected to be charged tomorrow.
