PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested another man over a Molotov cocktail attack at a surau in Damansara Damai on Sunday.

The latest arrest brings the total number of people rounded up in relation to the case to three.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din said the man was arrested at 7pm yesterday.

He has been remanded for six days, beginning today to facilitate investigations. The remand order expired next Tuesday.

Prior to this, two men, both in their 20s, were arrested at 3am yesterday for allegedly hurling a Molotov cocktail into the compound of the surau.

The duo have been remanded for a week, until Tuesday.

The incident took place as a congregation of 20 people were performing Subuh prayers at the Surau Al-Huda.

Two men on a motorcycle reportedly hurled a beer bottle, modified into a Molotov cocktail, into the compound and fled.

The bottle landed near the surau entrance and a fire broke out.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

The case is being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code for mischief by fire or explosive substance.
