BUTTERWORTH: A murder investigation is underway after a man was found dead near Jalan Jelawat earlier today.
Policemen were on a routine patrol duty in the area when they spotted the victim's body behind a petrol station.
Seberang Prai Tengah police chief Assistant Commissioner Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said the victim has been identified as S. Vince Jevadurai, aged 30.
He said the victim had suffered “serious injuries”, but did not reveal the nature of those injuries.
“We believe that we have identified the suspect in the case and are hunting him down now." Nik Ros said.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
