Stabbed 45 times: Pahang teens face charge of murdering 14-year-old girl

TEMERLOH: A college student and a teenage schoolboy were hauled to court today over the gruesome murder of a 14-year-old girl two months ago.

Zamirul Aliff Mohd Zaki, 19, and the 15-year-old boy were charged at the magistrate's court here with the murder of Nur Amira Abdullah, whose body was found with 45 stab wounds at Bera on Oct 25.

On that day, members of the public came across her remains, which were floating in Sungai Triang, Bera.

An autopsy had revealed stab wounds on her chest, abdomen, back, arms, and left leg.

On Dec 18, Zamirul and the boy were arrested.

The duo - clad in orange lockup uniforms - appeared calm when they were produced in court today.

They nodded their heads indicating they understood the charge read out to them before Magistrate Najwa Hashim. No plea was recorded.

The duo are accused of murdering Amira - at an oil palm plantation at the riverbank of Sungai Triang, Triang, Bera, between 1.10am and 3.30pm on Oct 25.

Zamirul faces the death penalty if convicted of murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

However even if found guilty, the boy - due to him being underage at the time of the alleged offence - would not face the death sentence.

If convicted, he instead could be whipped, fined or detained at a special school per Section 91 (1) of the Child Act 2001.

Deputy public prosecutor Siti Hajar Mustaffa urged the court to deny bail due to the case being that of murder.

She also applied for the court to set a mention date as the forensic and chemist reports are not completed yet.

Najwa did not allow bail and set Jan 24 for mention.

Zamirul and the boy were not represented.
