'Stop speculating; just let police do their jobs in finding Ridhuan, Prasana'

HULU SELANGOR: Police have asked Malaysians to stop speculating on the case of Muhammad Ridhuan Abdullah, who had failed to return his daughter to his ex-wife, M. Indira Gandhi.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said he had mobilised all elements in the force to trace Ridhuan, who is still missing with his youngest daughter, Prasana Diksa.

“It is a sensitive issue, speculation will only jeopardise public order in the nation. I hope no speculation or assumption is made regarding this sensitive case.

“I have ordered the Criminal Investigation Department and all elements in the police force to detect the man in accordance with the court order issued in 2014,” he told reporters after launching the new Highway Investigation Unit and the 12th Op Selamat campaign at the Ulu Bernam rest area.

It was reported that police believed Ridhuan is still in the country as Immigration Department records show he has not left Malaysia.

However, no leads on his whereabouts have appeared so far. Police have issued an appeal to the public to channel pertinent information to them so he may be found.

In a landmark ruling last week, the Federal Court declared null and void the unilateral conversion to Islam of Ridhuan and Indira’s three children, including Prasana.

The five-member Federal Court panel led by Court of Appeal president Tan Sri Zulkefli Ahmad Makinudin had unanimously decided to allow Indira’s appeal to nullify the unilateral conversion of the three children — Prasana, Tevin Darsiny, 21, and Karan Dinish, 20, almost 10 years ago.

Ridhuan had, in May 2014, been ordered by the Ipoh High Court to hand over Prasana to her mother, but has failed to do so till today.
