Myanmar man charged with outraging male co-worker's decency at hair salon

KUALA LUMPUR: A Myanmar man was today charged at the Ampang magistrate's court with outraging the decency of a male co-worker at a hair salon on Monday.

Noor Kabir Abu Zafar, 40, had allegedly attempted twice to place his genitals in the mouth of his 29-year-old Indonesian co-worker.

However, no plea was recorded from the accused as he failed to understand the charge read out against him in front of magistrate Haslinda A. Raof.

According to the charge sheet, Noor Kabir had allegedly committed the offence at the salon in Jalan Indah 7, Kampung Ampang Indah, at 6pm on Feb 5.

Under Section 377D, he faces a sentence of up to two years’ imprisonment if convicted.

Deputy public prosecutor Nor Hashimah Hashim did not offer bail as no plea had been recorded.

She agreed and fixed March 14 for mention of the case.
