BUKIT MERTAJAM: Police detained two men and seized cannabis from them in a raid, near the PKR Permatang Pauh election operations centre here on Thursday night.
In the 7.30pm incident, the two men, aged 25 and 58, also tested positive for drugs known as
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
Sources said a team of police carried out the raid after they saw the men, with six others behaving in a suspicious manner.
“Checks led to the seizure of 3.4gm of cannabis inside a black bag belonging to the elderly man who works as lorry driver.
“Further checks also led to the seizure of 4.15gm cannabis inside the pocket of the younger man.
The source said both men are being investigated under Section 6 and Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
Meanwhile, Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid confirmed the arrest of the two suspects.
