Police step up security around Najib's residence

KUALA LUMPUR: Police has stepped up security at the entrance to the private residence of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at Jalan Langgak Duta.

Sentul district deputy police chief Superintendent Mohamed Rafiq Mohamed Mustafa said the move was made to control security at the residential area.

“We have issued a 24-hour security monitoring order at the entrance to Jalan Langgak Duta.

“The instruction was given to avoid any untoward incident. The area has become focus of variety authorities, and we want to safeguard security of the residents here,” he said when contacted.

Checks revealed that a mobile police station has been placed at the entrance with five policemen on duty.

Cars were inspected before they were allowed to enter the area.

Media practitioners who were previously free to gather outside Najib’s house were also prohibited from entering the area.
