Youngsters attack man over meal payment

KLANG: A relative of a restaurant owner in Bukit Tinggi was beaten up by a group of youngsters when he refused to entertain a request to pay for food that had been eaten at a later date.

In the incident last Sunday, it is learnt that chairs and helmets were used in the attack on the restaurant owner’s uncle.

The incident, which was recorded on closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera, has gone viral on Facebook.

Klang Selatan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsul Amar Ramli said police had arrested one of the suspects and were looking for two other individuals.

“We have identified the two suspects and we are looking for them,” he said today.

Shamsul said a quarrel ensued between the man and six youngsters in the 2.50am incident.

“One of the suspects wanted to pay later after eating at the restaurant, but the uncle did not allow it. The suspect got angry and threw helmets and plastic chairs at the man.

“Two other suspects also hit the man and damaged a freezer in the restaurant before leaving the premise.”

Shamsul said the victim suffered minor injuries.
