Too noisy... man stabs neighbours

SEPANG: Five men were injured when they were stabbed by their neighbour at Kampung Jenderam Hulu, Dengkil, on Wednesday midnight.

Sepang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Aziz Ali said police were alerted over the incident at 12.48am.

Aziz said all victims, aged between 15 and 48, including a pair of father and son, are currently being treated at the Serdang Hospital.

“Investigation revealed that the 35-year-old suspect has been complaining to his wife since five years ago that his neighbours were noisy, especially late in the night.

“He had asked his neighbour’s friends to go home but it was not heeded,” he said in a statement today.

Aziz said the suspect felt challenged by the behaviour and attitude of his neighbours, who were constantly revving their motorcycles’ engines late at night.

He said that the suspect lost his patience and had gone to his neighbour’s house with a knife before an argument erupted and the man stabbed all five victims.

“The suspect fled the scene and efforts to locate him are still on-going,” he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons.

Meanwhile, one of the victims, Wan Alif Azril Mohd Zamri, 18, said the suspect threatened him with a parang a few months ago.

“He was angry with us for gathering in front of my friend’s house, which is located next to his house.

“He placed the parang on my neck and told me that if we ever gathered there again, we will be killed.

“There was once when we stared at him as he was speeding inside the housing area, and even though he was at fault, he threatened to kill us. I don’t know what is his problem,” he said when met at the hospital today.

Alif said he was the first to be stabbed by the suspect.

“He entered his house after he told me to go home, and five minutes later, he came out with two knives.

“When I turned to get on my motorcycle to leave, I felt a sharp pain on my back. That’s when I realised that I was stabbed.

“I ran into my friend’s house and when I woke up, I found myself in the hospital at 6am,” he said.

Another victim, Muhammad Syahid Mohd Fadhillah, 18, said the suspect also threatened to trace everyone involved if the incident was reported to the police.

“After the incident, he frightened us further, saying that he will hunt us down if we lodge a police report.

“I could see he was holding two knives, one knife was a kitchen knife, while the other, I’m not too sure.

“It’s scary to recall the incident, I was stabbed on my back while I was trying to escape,” he said.
