BUTTERWORTH: A scuffle between two neighbours ended when one of them sustained serious injuries on his right hand after attacked with a hoe at Kampung Manggis here yesterday evening.
In the 7.30pm incident, the victim was attacked by his neighbour in front of his wife and two kids.
He is now receiving treatment at Seberang Jaya Hospital.
Seberang Prai Utara district police chief Assistant Commissioner Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the wife of the victim lodged a police report later that day and police apprehend the attacker about 11pm at his house.
According to initial investigation, the suspect was said to have damaged an electric fuse box and water pipe of the victim’s house which led to the fight.
“The suspect also uttered profanities towards the victim before he eventually attacked him with the hoe.
“Further checks revealed that the victim had previously lodged a report against the suspect for threatening him with a machete,” he said.
Noorzainy said the police managed to seize the hoe which was placed at the back of his house.
The man also has past records for drug related offences.
