Body of man found stuck in water pipe

PETALING JAYA: The body of a man was found stuck in a water pipe in Sungai Klang near Tanah Perkuburan Islam Bukit Tandang, Jalan PJS 5/1, Sungai Way, here, yesterday.

Subang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the Petaling Jaya District Control Centre received an emergency call from the public regarding the incident at 9.01am.

"When found, the victim's body was stuck inside the water pipe, fully clothed, and without shoes.

"Further examination revealed that the individual is believed to be a local man wearing a blue t-shirt and blue jeans, with a black belt and a black watch on the left hand," he said in a statement today.

Wan Azlan said that an examination of the man's body did not find any identification documents.

"The results of further examination by the Selangor police forensics team confirmed the presence of injuries on the forehead, both hands and bruising on the left rib, in addition to his tongue protruding.

"No weapons were found near the scene. So far, no criminal elements have been detected, and the case is classified as sudden death.

"The autopsy process on the body is expected to be conducted at 9am today at the Serdang Hospital Forensic Medical Department to determine the cause of death," he said

He asked the public with information about the incident to contact the Subang District Control Centre at 03-78637100 to assist in the investigation.
