“I cannot elaborate on the arrest. The investigation, however, is proceeding smoothly,” he said.

The bodies of K Kamala, 51 and S Silvaraja, 59, were found by Kamala’s 31-year-old daughter when she returned home from Singapore around 9am on Thursday.

Kamala, who worked as a cleaner in Singapore, was found dead in the bedroom with slash marks on her back.

Her male friend, meanwhile, was found dead in the living room also with slash marks.

Cash and jewellery belonging to Kamala were reportedly missing.
