Man nabbed after threatening to jump from 6th floor of Suria KLCC

KUALA LUMPUR: Shoppers at Suria KLCC were shocked when they saw a man threatening to jump from the sixth floor of the shopping mall today.

In the 4.50pm incident, the 49-year-old man stood at the edge of the main corridor barrier and threatened to jump if anyone went near him.

He even stood on one leg and held the railing with one hand whenever anyone tried to persuade him.

After more than two hours, personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department and police managed to talked him out of it, earning a huge cheer from hundreds of shoppers in the mall.

Dang Wangi district police chief Shaharuddin Abdulah, when contacted, confirmed the incident.

"They then installed a net on the first floor as precautionary measure. The team managed to persuade the victim at 7.03pm and handed him to the police for further action.
