Sexagenarian dies following scuffle in Kepong

KUALA LUMPUR: A sexagenarian was killed after she fell and hit a wall during a scuffle with another woman at her apartment in Kepong this morning.

Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner S. Shanmugamoorthy Chinniah said police received a call about 9.50am and rushed to the apartment unit on the fifth floor to find the 65-year-old victim lying on the floor and bleeding from the head.

He said the victim was later confirmed dead by a medical officer from Selayang Hospital.

“Our initial investigation found that two women were quarrelling and there were pushing and shoving involved between the victim and a 60-year-old suspect,” he said in a statement, today.

The suspect was detained to assist in the investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, he said.

He said police were investigating the relationship between the two and the purpose of the suspect’s visit to the victim’s house that ended up in tragedy. -- Bernama
