Police believe murder of man in Sungai Choh linked to dissemination of indecent images

KUALA LUMPUR: Police believe that the actions of a man who had disseminated indecent images of a woman were the motive behind his murder in a house in Sungai Choh, Rawang on Dec 23.

Eight suspects were remanded for 13 days to assist in the investigation in the murder. The suspects, comprising five males and three females, are aged between 19 and 46 years old and have been remanded until Friday.

Acting Gombak District Police Chief Superintendent Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir in a statement said the investigation papers have been referred to the Selangor Deputy Public Prosecutor, who has issued charges against six suspects.

"Two suspects are charged under Section 201 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, for tampering with evidence.

"Five suspects are charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the same Code, for murder and two other suspects have been released and turned into prosecution witnesses," he added.

Ariffin stated that all suspects were charged in the Selayang Court today and the motive behind the incident was related to the dissemination of indecent images.

On Dec 23 last year, it was reported that police arrested five suspects in connection with the discovery of a man's body buried behind a residence in Sungai Choh.

It was also reported that a 27-year-old neighbour lodged a police complaint over the murder after overhearing her neighbours' conversation, planning to dispose of the body.

On the same day of the discovery of the body, police arrested three suspects, two men and a woman.

The altercation reportedly started as a verbal argument before escalating into a physical brawl, ultimately causing the death of the victim.

In an attempt to conceal the incident, the suspect buried the victim's body behind their house.
