Man found dead in car: Two more, including victim's son arrested

SUNGAI PETANI: Two more people were detained to facilitate investigation into the murder of man found with stab wounds in a car in Taman Bandar Baru on Saturday.

Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Adzli Abu Shah said one of the suspects, the victim’s son aged 17, was detained yesterday in Bayan Lepas, Penang.

The other suspect, aged 29, was arrested when he arrived at Kuala Muda police headquarters yesterday.

“The two suspects was being remanded for five and six days, respectively, starting from today after a remand order was issued by Deputy Public Prosecutor Savinder Singh.

“They were detained to facilitate investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder,” he said.

Meanwhile, the remand order for three other suspects for the case was also extended between five and six days starting tomorrow (Friday).

It was reported that the body of A. Muniady, 41, was found covered in blood in a white Nissan Grand Livina parked at a roadside at 4am by passers-by.

Unpaid debt was believed to be the motive behind the murder.
