Man nabbed after cat found hanged in Wangsa Maju

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a cat, found hanged at an apartment in Section 2, Wangsa Maju on Monday.

Wangsa Maju deputy police chief Superintendent Muhammad Najib Hamzah said the 28-year-old man was detained at Jalan Vistawira, Section 2, Wangsa Maju, at 1.10pm today.

“Based on a tip-off, a police team went to the area and apprehended the suspect. Checks showed he has two previous drug-related cases," he said.

It was reported yesterday that a 40-year-old man found his pet cat dead outside his home on Tuesday. He initially thought his cat had been poisoned and buried the animal behind his house.

However, he later found out that a neighbour had placed his cat's remains outside his home after finding the feline hanging by a rope at a staircase.

A closed circuit television (CCTV) footage showed a man was seen holding the cat before tying a rope around its neck and hanging it at the stairs.
