Cops find another bag with body as search for murdered woman's husband takes twist

SHAH ALAM: Police’s hunt for the missing husband of a woman found dead in a luggage bag has taken a twist with the discovery of a similar bag with human remains in Alam Megah, on Thursday evening.

The luggage bag, which was discovered in a drain, was found to contain the body of a man – believed to be the murdered woman’s husband, Lim Ah Kee @ Lim Kok Hoe, 79.

Two suspects who were detained to assist in the investigation of the case led police to the site where the bag was found.

Lim is believed to have suffered the same fate as his 52-year-old wife, Tan Siew Mee, whose body was found stuffed in a similar case at Jalan Persiaran Kuala Selangor on Monday.

Tan – also known as Emilly – was a restaurant manager in USJ who was originally from Pokok Sena, Kedah.

“The suspects, who were arrested in Kota Kemuning, are foreigners and believed to have been Lim’s house tenants.

“They led the investigating team to a drain near the Alam Megah LRT station at 5pm today. They pinpointed the location of the luggage bag.

“The suspects confessed that they had (assaulted the two victims before) throwing away their weapons.

“We are in the midst of locating (the weapons) and gathering other crucial evidence,” Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Baharudin Mat Taib said on Thursday night.

Earlier on Thursday, Baharudin said they were tracking down Lim, who could shed light on Tan’s murder, which was being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

The childless couple lived in a rented condominium unit in USJ.

The luggage bag containing Tan’s body was found by two telecommunications company technicians at Jalan Persiaran Kuala Selangor in Section 27 at 5.30am on Monday.

Baharudin said Tan was identified based on a fingerprint check with the National Registration Department.

He added that a post-mortem on Tuesday revealed that Tan was stabbed 13 times on her chest and stomach; and that there were slash wounds on her neck.

On Sunday, Tan’s friend had lodged a missing person report at the USJ 8 police station.

Sources said the friend was unable to contact Tan, who was supposed to give him/her a lift to an event that day.

The friend said Lim also proved to be uncontactable.
