Decomposed remains of Japanese man found in Gombak condo

KUALA LUMPUR: The badly decomposed remains of a Japanese man were discovered in a condominium unit in Kepong Sentral, Gombak, here, today.

The man, identified as Fukuzono Shiro, 63, is believed to have been dead for five days.

The condominium’s management made a call to the police at about 12 noon, informing them of a foul stench emanating from the condominium unit, which was locked from the inside.

Personnel from the Selayang Fire and Rescue Station were called in to help open the door. Policemen then found the body, which was lying in bed and covered with a blanket in one of the rooms.

According to Gombak police chief Assistant Commissioner Samsor Maarof, Shiro had been living alone and that no element of foul play was found.

“The case has been classified as ‘sudden death’.

“The body was sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem,” he added.
