PAPAR: Two individuals, who were caught in a video assaulting a man, have been detained last night.
In the 1 minute and 39 seconds video, the victim was alleged to have raped a woman, who also appeared in the video.
The two men, in their 30s, however, are not related to the woman and believed to have just interfered in the incident.
District police chief Deputy Superintendant Batholomew Umpit said the victim, also in his 30s, lodged a police report after the incident last Wednesday.
He added that the victim had also been referred to district hospital for further treatment before his statement was taken for further action.
"Both men have been detained and the case is being investigated under Section 323 of Penal Code for causing injuries.
"If convicted, both can be jailed one year or fined, or both,” he said when contacted today.
