Cops to submit IP on 'nasi ganja' copter to DPP soon

IPOH: Investigation papers with regards to a helicopter landing at Ipoh Padang here on Friday to pick up 36 packets of 'nasi ganja' will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor soon.

Perak police chief Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said police were still carrying out an investigation and the results would be submitted to the DPP for further action.

He said investigations so far revealed the Bell 505 Global Ranger helicopter, owned by Systematic Aviation Service, had a permit to travel for maintenance work.

"We have recorded statements from the complainant, the owner of the nasi ganja outlet, the helicopter company owner and all individuals involved in this case.

"Police also recorded statements from the police station chief who gave the approval (inter-state permit)," he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Regulation 16 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases.

Mior Faridalathrash added that he hoped the public would not manipulate statements released by certain media outlets on their own postings.

"Readers should read and understand the entire news content to avoid making any assumptions that could interfere with the ongoing investigation," he said in a statement today.
