BUKIT MERTAJAM: Police detained a man to assist investigations into an incident where a Toyota Hilux driver was filmed driving dangerously and almost caused an accident at Km138.7 of the North -South Expressway here on Friday.
Seberang Prai Tengah police chief Assistant Commissioner Shafee Abd Samad said the 30-year-old was arrested at 11.30am yesterday when he went to the district police headquarters here.
"Further investigations into the incident are still underway.
"The case is probed under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said today.
A one minute and 35 seconds video went viral on social media recently on the incident.
Based on the recording, the 4WD vehicle had cornered another vehicle, almost causing an accident.
The video showed the 4WD following a grey car before cornering it several times. The car was later seen skidding to the left of the road before hitting a cone and nearly crashing into the back of a truck parked at the emergency lane.
