GEORGE TOWN: Penang police have opened up a disciplinary investigation paper against two traffic policemen following a viral video yesterday, which showed the duo escorting a public vehicle.
Confirming that the incident took place, state police chief Datuk Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said further investigation would be carried out against the two policemen involved.
"We will not compromise with any of our men for any wrongdoing.
"We have opened up a disciplinary investigation paper against the two and are investigating the matter," he said today.
A 20-second video footage of the incident has gone viral since yesterday after it was uploaded on social media.
The video footage showed a car driver, alleged to be the son of a member of parliament, being escorted by two traffic policemen using motorcycles belonging to the police, along Jalan Bukit Gambir.
The footage has since earned the wrath of netizens who were unhappy over the matter.
