Housewife remanded seven days to assist in murder investigation [NSTTV]

JOHOR BARU: A housewife who was arrested yesterday after she allegedly beat her husband to death has been remanded for seven days until July 22.

The remand order was issued by Johor Baru Magistrate Court Senior Assistant Registrar, Melody Woon Sze Mun, here today.

The 36-year-old woman, wearing a white t-shirt and lock-up pants arrived at the court at 8.45am.

In the 7.50am incident on Friday, the victim, Lee Ming How, 44, was found lying face down at his home.

The victim's children also stay at the residential unit on the 3rd Floor, Block 14, Flat Nipah in Taman Daya here.

Preliminary police investigations found that the victim was believed to have been beaten to death by his wife.

The victim's son, who was in the house at the time of the incident, is the principal witness.

The victim suffered injuries to the face and head after being struck with a blunt weapon.

The suspect, who was detained to assist investigations, was positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.

The suspect has three previous records, including two drug -related cases and one criminal case of causing injury.

The motive for the murder is still under investigation.

Police are also tracking a man believed to be involved in the case to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

It is understood that the couple has two children aged two and 11-years-old and are now under the care of the victim's family.
